Title: Update failure
Post by: REDACTED on July 25, 2017, 11:04:45 PM
Upon opening Avast Passwords a dialogue window opens advising that a new version of Avast Passwords is available.

Avast Passwords 1.6.4 is now available - you have 1.6.3. Would you like to download it now?

I click the blue Install Update button and the update download commences. Downloading update proceeds and then asks for my Administrator password. I enter it, it’s accepted and after 2 seconds or so Avast Passwords automatically shuts down, dialogue box opens, saying Update Error, The update could not be completed successfully. Please try again later. I click ok and AP reopens on its own with a dialogue box saying a new version of Avast Passwords is available.

Tried to install this update numerous times over past two days, all with the same result as described above.

Any ideas of what’s going wrong?

Thanks.

Hello Walt,

Thank you for reaching out. We are having some issues with the update process on Sierra installations. We are currently working to resolve the problem and we expect to publish a patch early next week.

Regards
