Title: Updates not going through Proxy
Post by: REDACTED on July 31, 2017, 09:54:41 AM
Hi All,

We have Avast for Mac installed but Avast doesn't seem to be using the system proxy and updates are not coming though, is there someway we can configure the client to go through the proxy?

On manually trying to update we just receive:

Connecting to repository http://avast.mac.avcdn.net/macosx/avast/vps9
Downloading vps9.lat...
curl: (52) Empty reply from server
Downloading vps9.lat... (retry 1)
curl: (52) Empty reply from server
Downloading vps9.lat... (retry 2)
curl: (52) Empty reply from server
Warning: Download failed [exit code 52]
Cannot download. Perhaps we are offline?
Error: Download of package vps9 failed.
Failed.

ANy help would be appreciated!

Whilst I don't use the Avast for Mac version, there is a means of selecting a proxy for the update in the Avast for Windows version. I just wonder if this setting would be available in Avast for Mac.

It is in the Avast Settings for Update under Proxy Settings - hopefully from the attached image you may get an idea if you have a corresponding setting.

Thanks for the reply but unfortunately no such option exists for the Mac version :(

You're welcome, sorry it didn't help.
