Title: Why is Avast having so many software updates this week
Post by: REDACTED on August 03, 2017, 08:41:08 PM
I have had Avast update at least once each day this past week and it has required a restart each day. And on at least several days it has updated an additional time that did not require a reboot; I know of these additional ones due to having to replace the shortcut to into its desktop folder and within the Start menu as well. The latest update instance just occurred requiring a restart which I've yet to do as I just had to find out what the heck is going on. Needless to say this has been very annoying.

Avast Free Antivirus
As of the very last update with restart pending as I do this post: Avast Program version: 17.5.2303 (build 17.5.3585.192)

Thanks

There haven't been any program updates after the version/build number you gave which was released on the 18th July 2017.  There might well have been a micro update and also the VPS updates.  But as far as I'm aware they wouldn't be requesting a reboot.

I would suggest you try an Avast Repair.
Control Panel > Programs > Programs & Features > Avast Anti Virus > Change - from the next screen select Repair - once complete reboot.
