Title: js file blocked by avast
Post by: REDACTED on August 08, 2017, 11:49:49 AM
So I started up my laptop and then i see an error message saying that windows script host cannot find a file that had random letters in it and has a js file extension
this is what the notifications in avast told me

Threat Blocked
Object: C\Users\John\AppData\Roaming\jscyexslm\hknjyu.js

Since then i've been getting that error message whenever i start up my laptop
I'm wondering if i have a virus or not and if i do please help me remove it

Hi ervandil,

what I can say from the info you shared then yes, there was malware on your laptop.

I suggest you to use autoruns (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns)) and search for the "C\Users\John\AppData\Roaming\jscyexslm\hknjyu.js" file. Delete the registry/task associated with this file and the error will be fixed.

Regards,
PDI
