Title: New Cleanup Premium vs AVG Tune-Up

I checked the "New Cleanup Premium" since it is now linked with the new AIS Beta release... and I was wondering if it is just a re-branded version of the AVG TuneUp (that comes mostly from the TuneUp Utilities that was bought by AVG some years behind) including more or less the same functionalities or if it is a complete newly developed product...  ::)

Hi,

that is a very good question actually.
To be honest the new Cleanup has been created using both approaches combined together. Which means that we took some features from the AVG PC TuneUp product, polish them a bit and then plug them to the newly developed "core" of the Cleanup product. There were also some features which we had to implement from scratch but they are at least using the know-how we got from AVG PC TuneUp and TuneUp Utilities products.
So the bottom line is that the new Cleanup shall combine the best of all of its ancestors using the know-how and technology we inherited from the AVG and TuneUp products.

Thanks for the explanation...

Does this mean that AVG Tune-Up and Cleanup Premium will coexist in the future? So up to the customer whether to stick with the Avast or AVG brand (of course the integration will be always better within the same brand, I guess...)...

Yep, at least for now.

PS: Avast did also buy Piriform (CCleaner) recently... ;)
