Title: Router PW
Post by: John969 on August 24, 2017, 10:59:35 AM
I have Premier, EVERY frigging time I run the Smart Scan I am prompted with an alert that my router (provided by my ISP XFinity) is not configured correctly, that my WiFi is configured with a weak or default PW and Avast offers a way that I can change my PW. First, that router was installed by a Comcast tech, it is NOT configured with a default PW, I chose the PW and I 100%, absolutely do not agree that the PW is weak or could easily be detected. I am tired of seeing this ALERT pop up every time I run Smart Scan, is anyone else seeing an alert such as this and do you follow Avast instructions to change your PW? I will not change mine but I wonder if I am the only person seeing this.  Thanks for any answers.

Are you sure the prompt is about router admin PW? Isn't the warning about the password for accessing your Wifi network?

Wifi password is not the same as router password.
Change it to something strong.

If avast says the password is weak it is about 100% certain that it is.
