Cleanup premium doesn't work anymore, it's stuck in the "we're doing our magic" part, it takes hours but it doesn't finish the cleanup operation...since I activated the Cleanup premium back in january, it has always worked fine, but now it's been days and I'm starting losing my patience >:( .... the only thing that comes to mind it's an avast automatic update a couple of days ago, but I don't think it could be responsible for the Cleanup malfunction...any advice? Thanks.

Hi got the latest version and the problem is the same, cleanup premium just gets stuck either on the scanning process or on the cleaning process

I HAVE DONE EVERY THING I CANNOT GET IT TO WORK CORRECTLY! SENT SCREEN SHOTS WITH SUPPORT TICKET AND YET ITS COUNTING DOWN TO EXPIRATION DATE.. WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE ANSWER ME?

Yes Asyn, I rebooted after retrieving the updates. I assume that most of us were wise enough to reboot.
It's i.m.o. rather frustrating when we are referred to Avast support and humiliating when asked whether we rebooted.
Avast will have to come up with an answer soon. >:(

It seems I'm not the only one with this issue. What's wrong with avast these days?! I submitted a ticket, and I'm trying to check the status....and it gets stuck there too! So, I can't run the cleanup premium I paid for (and my laptop definetely need it to this point), and I can't even check whether the support team is dealing with it or not. Disappointing...to say the least

If you want help/support start your own thread in the correct forum and provide details.

CleanUp is doing nothing you can't already do yourself.
Such tools only speed-up some things but do not clean as thorough as a human can do.
For now I suggest you use CCleaner (for as long as avast doesn't screw that one up too).

Yes issue showed it self right after the update.
Avast somehow manages to mess up Clean up every once in a while. A couple of updates ago, it got stuck at optimizing registiry. Now it gets stuck in the previous step.
/facepalm

I am experiencing the same problem. Suddenly Premium Cleanup has started hanging or looping during the "Hold on while we work or magic" cycle in Stage 1
I called their Tech Support and was totally gobsmacked by their response! After "analysing" my computer, they said that the problem was in my PC, not the Avast software, BUT for 79.99 or 89.99 or 189.99 for the year they could fix it for me.
I feel so betrayed! They are holding my program ransom! This is blackmail! I asked for a refund for the product I purchased since it won't work and they refused because I had it more than 30 days.
These tactics are disgraceful!

What you called was not avast but a third party that only handles certain things for avast.
They don't deal with financial issues as you can clearly read on the avast website.

Hi, this issue is now fixed and the fix is now being distributed. No action needed on your side, it will just start working.

My Windows 10 laptop hangs in the first third of the Cleanup Premium procedure. There is no error message and no indication that anything is wrong. If this is a procedure that we should expect to take hours, Avast needs to include an alert making this clear.
This is clearly a recurring problem. There were threads on the same issue months ago.
Couple with the recent Avast security breach. this raises obvious questions about Avast's competence and/or commitment to performance and security.
Everything about Avast's performance to date suggests to me that it's time to cut bait and find a better security and performance tool.

Last one was many years ago!
CCleaner was compromised before avast bought Piriform.

So...for who knows how long cleanup premium been stuck. What the heck am I paying for, fake products? I've read through this thread and apparently im not the only one with the same problem and if i've read it right there are people who have had contact with support and been asked to buy even more "service" from avast in order to get the problem solved???
Avast team better solve this or I for one will drop your "service" like a hot potato

Hi, this issue is now fixed and the fix is now being distributed. No action needed on your side, it will just start working.
On 31 August, I reported the jamming of CleanUp.
I can now report that CleanUp is working again. And the programme is also a lot faster than before.

My Cleanup (under Performance) tab hasn't worked for many weeks now, this is really lousy. Guys please give a straight answer on this, I subscribed for two years.

screw this. I'm getting a refund. this is a scam. months now, and it doesn't work. you can't keep a subscription based business going like this.
