Hi everyone,
new beta version 17.7.2311 (build 17.7.3631.0) is released.
What's new:
- SafeZone Browser is not installed with clean AV installation anymore (https://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB209)
- Several bug-fixes
Known issues:
- Setup: Cleanup component cannot be uninstalled via modify installation or from UI
- Setup: Passive mode is not activated when another Antivirus solution is already installed
- Game Mode: All game mode rules are turned off by default (this setting is reloaded after restart)
- Affects both clean installation and update
- Sensitive Data Shield: When protected documents are modified, such documents are no longer protected
- Sensitive Data Shield: When protected document is stored on device which is unplugged and plugged back to the computer, such documents are no longer protected
- Sensitive Data Shield: Changing rule allow/block in settings are not saved (the rule cannot be changed due to this)

No problem here but I thought that there weren't going to be any new releases just before the weekend ???
Would also like to know what fixes to prior problems are incorporated in this release.

No Problem updating from last beta on Windows 7 SP1 Nettop little PC, wondering what the several bug fixes are though? is the threat alerts fixed where sound goes, but don't see the alert on the screen?
Intel Atom 1.6ghz, 2gb of ram, 160gb hard drive, Windows 7 32bit SP1 on that system?
(Main System currently not running Avast at the moment, but I might switch back as not sure I totally like Defender at this point lol, though threat alerts in center of screen so don't like either, but guess i'll have to decide eventually, and when I get my newer higher end system, I think i'll be fine with Avast then possibly

Agreed. "Several bug-fixes" is very vague and we don't know what is fixed.

Had to close the Avast startscreen manually, else it's running smooth (so far).

Can't see details of my scheduled scans. Clicking "details" button causes scan to restart.

When I boot my computer I get the message that Behavior Shield is not connected. So I have to click to install it manually. Is this a problem I am having or other people also?

Yes this bug is back (for some) after being resolved on an earlier version.
Try going into the avastUI > Protection > Antivirus and click the Scan History.
or
Try opening the Notifications area, the Bell icon at the top right of the avastUI. If there was anything of note on the scan I believe it should be there.

we'd release small fix in the upcoming beta.
Could you please try the new beta once it's available and report if the issue persists? The beta should be released on Friday.
