Sooooooo glad I don't live on Galveston Island anymore (30 years there). Got so sick of dealing with those things every year. The preparations are unreal and the emotional roller coaster is, too. You almost feel let down when they pass you by because you realize once again you nearly killed yourself getting ready and nothing happened. Of course you're relieved, too, knowing your home is safe. Retired to Central Texas to get away from the hassle!
