Title: Refund Refund and Refund
Post by: REDACTED on September 21, 2017, 04:20:02 PM
Dear Avast team (and Avast Superstars),

I have searched the forum and have read many of the responses about the delayed time about refunds. With that said, I could use your, or someone on the Avast team, help.

My auto-renewal came up on my Avast Internet Security, Avast SecureLine VPN, and Avast Cleanup -  On July 22 and 25, I was fascinated by the free trial of these features (Avast Internet Security, Avast SecureLine VPN, and Avast Cleanup), and I just typed my credit card no. to do the transaction which was free of charge. However, my registered email acc for avast is not my frequently-used email, so I never checked if there were any emails in it.

Today, I have just received my statement saying I have to pay $59.99+39.99 for avast software. Oh, What the heck is that?
Shortly afterward, I immediately made my first log-in for my avast account, and it showed all the functions I have used for free-trial were all in auto-renewal. Also, I couldn't even find out how to disconnect or delete my credit number from my avast account. OMG, I reckon it is really unfair. I couldn't imagine my favorite anti-virus company would treat me like that :'(

How much longer do I need to wait for any type of response and refund request? I know it takes some time but I really really need to refund now. Plus, any idea how to manage my renewals?

Help??? Ticket ID and such are below:

Order ID: 41233147300, 41302151800, 41819935000
   Subject: need refund
   Department:Refunds
   Type: Issue
   Status: Received
   Priority: ReplyNow!!!!!!!

Thanks guys!

Cheers,
Tristan

I have a similar problem. My order was cancelled by Avast but they charged me anyway.

So I did what the FAQ says:
"To request a refund for an Avast product for Windows or Mac, contact Avast Support and provide your name, order number, and the reason for your refund request."

I contacted https://de.support.avast.com/support/tickets/new?form=2 and got automatic replies (3 in the meantime), but no personal reply for 2 weeks already.

Is Avast support dead?

What is your Support Ticket ID number ?

#961816, #961814, #961804
I have received a refund confirmation email, saying that my refund has been processed. However, I call my credit card company today, and they say they have been informed of the refund, but my credit card account has still not been credited by Avast. I will keep updating my status. Once I am told that my account has been credited, I will post it promptly.

I can see the reason this took so long. Each submission of a new request, started the process all over again.
It was the last request that actually resulted in the refund Ticket #961816.

This is so dodgy!  Been having issues also.  Didn't realise until recently I've also been 'scammed'.  Somehow paid for this two years running and none of my machines use it.  My two emails Joint email and personal email are not known to the Avast system to retrieve details of the license and order information... contacting support is ridiculous, how do you talk to someone???

It doesn't matter if you use avast or not.
You pay for the subscription, just like with a magazine.

Contacting support is real easy.
As has been explained over and over again, you need to create a ticket and avast will help you.

I just promised to update any new information for that

I requested 3 refunds last month, which have successfully been processed according to your refund confirmation emails.

Today, I have just received my credit card statement, seeing the 3 transactions have been cancelled, and I was relieved.
But, in the next second, I found out there is another dishonest charge from Avast which I didn't even receive a notification email from it (I did receive confirmation emails for the 3 cancelled transactions).

I now request the cancellation of ALL orders and transactions which charge me money. Also, there is no option for me to delete my credit card information in Avast. The button for editing payment information, which is stated on the official website, has never appeared on my order status page. Finally, I cannot even log in to the Avast customer portal to delete my payment information owing to my region probably (I am from China).

Again. I am very disappointed to the Avast's approach of running a business. Frankly, I consider it a robbery.

This should never be that difficult, If I didn't know any better I would think they making this hoops and hops for a reason. Either don't look at you credit card statement or give up  asking for refund   :D

It isn't that difficult. There also aren't any "dishonest" charges.

If it wasn't difficult than there wouldn't be several customers having this exactly same issue. I can't recall were in this forum or thread, but there is few customers that were dealing with additional charges that were made on their credit cards and the same customers had to go through several emails to get that resolve, you're here long enough, you can dig it out

I don't think, nor I said there are dishonest  charges , but they making you go through some road blocks before they resolve your issue....it was sarcasm on my part  ;) but again, are you that trusty and welling to bet your life  that you would never get scammed by anyone, let alone people you don't personally know I personalty never had problems with that part and avast but obviously many people still do
:D

@ Vapor,
What makes you think the reply was directed at you ???
This is a support forum. Most of what you'll see on here are customers who have a problem.
Hardly anyone ever comes here to say "Gee that was easy".

That wasn't sarcastic. You didn't mention "dishonest" so the reply was not directed at the person who did. (tristanperfume)

:) I know it wasn't sarcastic I was being nice but that itself seems to confuse you. If you read your remark to my comment obviously was directed @me.
If you read your second remark "Hardly anyone ever comes here to say "Gee that was easy" that's exactly what I was referring to and ONLY to that specific issue as it seem to be impacting quite a few other people with exactly the same problem.
So when you backtrack your earlier remark to my comment and now your remark again you contradicting yourself   :)

Let's not make this an issue and close this discussion until someone else will have the same issue again as it will happen  ;) because as I also said at the beginning "This shouldn't be that difficult"  but obviously still is  ;)
