Title: Wi-Fi inspector Router vulnerabilities
Post by: REDACTED on October 04, 2017, 03:08:49 AM
Yesterday for the first time the WiFi inspector scan showed that my router was vulnerable (catalogue id  CVE-2012-5958). I updated the firmware for my router (Netgear) as instructed but the scan is still showing this issue. Is it a false positive or something serious? If it is not a false positive how do I fix it? I've already updated firmware, reset router, uninstalled and re-installed Avast.

Reported to Avast.

I can also confirm this bug on a TP-Link Archer C9.  The Username and Passwords to the router have definitely been changed, yet Avast reports that they are the default admin and admin.  If I lock the router out (No router logins allowed for 2 hours) by trying to log in to the router with invalid credentials 10 times, then running Wi-Fi Inspector, Avast still reports 'Weak or default password found'.
