Hi,
I'm attempting to install a new application, Station (featured on Product Hunt), to try it out, however, on running the exe file Avast alerts to a potential virus. Is there a way to confirm if this file is actually safe/it's showing a false positive?
I've seen in some other threads people have used VirusTotal to check files so I've uploaded the exe file here: https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/c4e30ece7f27bef45139b72c659a1c97fa85eac1d4c207f470b8835de7204e22/detection
I really want to try it out so am hoping it's not a genuine issue.
Thanks in advance!

You can report a suspected FP here: https://www.avast.com/false-positive-file-form.php

I've reported it using the false positive using the form above, however, I was unable to attach the file due to its size.

Well, did you include a link to the download or VT results or this thread..?

For large files > https://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB258
On a note, as VT does not have all the components installed one could have on a system it can be VT shows a file as clean while it isn't.
Also there are many settings possible, so I advise to run some online scans and compare the results.
If avast in VT says it is clean it can be avast at Jotti says it is not.
Two online scanners that can be used :
