Title: problem with anti theft pin
Post by: REDACTED on October 11, 2017, 08:46:41 PM
Hi!
I have a problem with my child's phone. It's locked (it was in repairs due to a mic problem and when they tried to test it with an unknown sim, it triggered the alarm and locked the phone) and now it demands the avast anti theft pin, I know the pin, but when i enter it, it just keeps thinking and thinking and does nothing. So I tried another random pins (like zeroes), but it still does nothing. I tried to "reset the pin", but it doesn't have internet connection and I cannot join the wifi, it won't let me access anything in the phone. I typed the address in my laptop and it says the page doesn't exist. Next up, I went to the Avast account to select this phone and change the pin from there, but that phone is not on the devices list, the other phone is. Just in case, I changed the pin in the other phone's settings, but that too, was a dead end.

Is there anything I can do or is it hopeless?

Use the SMS command to mark the phone as found.

I sent the (Pin) FOUND from my own number to my son's  - it did nothing, he just received the sms (which i can't read, but I see it received it). Maybe i did it wrong? I've managed to get internet access now with the safe mode, but the page "reset pin" still doesn't open -  error: disallowed_useragent - what does that mean?

Are you using the paid AMS (AT is part of that) or are you using the old free AT ?

The old free one then. The phone hasn't been used for months.

Remove AT.
If needed simply perform a true factory reset of the phone.
