Title: False alarm with the last VPS update???
Post by: algasys on May 07, 2006, 01:06:23 PM
Hello everybody,

That is a great while I use Avast and Spamweed.
together with no troubles. I think that Spamweed act as a "proxy" beetween the mailer and the isp to filter the spam.

Till now, I never have had major troubles.  ;D

But since the last update of VPS file 618-3 four exe files part of spamweed was marked as corrupted.  As I choice "do nothing and continue" in the alarm window Spamweed don't run correctly no more.  :'(

These files are:

addrexp.exe
swfilter.exe
swtrain.exe
unsetol.exe

The virus which is reported is:

Win32:Ruby[Trj]

I insist, till may 5th, spamweed AND Avast ran together and spamweed was not updated from a while. Thus, this is Avast that have changed.

As you can understand, this is very very annoying getting mails each time, each day.  >:(   I have momently suspended Spamweed and I am surrendered by the pests...   >:( >:(

Would you consider, as I am certainly not alone, that is an urgent issue to fix?

I thank you helping me.

Regards

ps.:  I have added these file names to the exclude windows but the control continue to run as before and to check the four files.

Can you please pack the file with ZIP or RAR, protect it with a password and send it to virus@avast.com (preferably with "False alarm" subject, for example)?
Thanks.
