Title: Windows XP PC won't boot after uninstalling free version of Avast

I let Avast do the reboot after the uninstall and the PC will no longer boot.  It gets to the Windows logo and moving line then pops up the blue screen of death with an "exception" message that clears before I can read more than a few words.  Then it reboots again.
