Post by: REDACTED on November 22, 2017, 10:06:13 AM
hi all

today i have visited a streaming website, it was blank so i removed adblock and refreshed the page, then an avast message appeared and said 'threat detected'
so i ran a scan but nothing was found
i ran a full analyse of the pc and nothing was found
i have visite the quarantine zone but nothing is there as well

so where is the threat virus thing?

either avast deleted it right away
or maybe it was an ad, a silly ad

It was most likely detected by the Web Shield, and the general action is to abort the connection, so the suspect file/action isn't downloaded.

Check the Web Shield information in the C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\report\WebShield.txt file.

My guess you got a URL:Mal = Blacklisted URL or IP

Next time, take screenshot of the message    ;)

If you have not rebooted since the warning you can right click on avast tray icon and > show last popup

This is no longer the case no Show last popup option on the context menu now.

So much for avast improving the context menu of tray icon, there are even less options.

Does the popup stay on screen until user close it?  Or is it timed?

I believe it is timed (quite a long duration, but once closed its gone.

Though I think if you hover your mouse over it then it remains, but I have never timed it to see if it conforms with the AvastUI > Settings > General > Popups - Alert Popups. Mine is set to 20 seconds and that may well be the default.
