New Virus chest now has "Scan" function, but it is not working correctly; if the file is not classified as malware, "Scan" bring me to "Select the areas" dialogue and file cannot be scanned. If the file is already classified as malware, then "Scan" just does its job.
Here is the reproduce step.
- Open AvastUI -> Protection -> Virus Chest.
- Click "Add file" to add something into chest
- Select added file and click "Scan"
- You'll be greeted with "Select the areas" dialogue
Also, after scanning the page back to "Scans" section, not to "Virus Chest".
Avast 17.9.2319 Premier, Windows 7 SP1 64bit.

Confirmed, same here.

Don't think feature was working correctly in latest stable release either:
Only options are:
- Delete
- Restore
- Send for analysis
Send for analysis will send file off at next sending statistics update. (R)ight-click option dialog box seems to have vanished.

i was often using the re-scan feature ...
to check if the file detection was updated (usually vs false positives or from susp/gen into malware family)
does this mean that little useful option for 'Scan" is gone for good ?

It was gone for a while, but is back now.

Some AV vendors have auto scan of files in quarantine after update and then give a message that you have False Positive files you can restore
Something for avast to have?

Yes that would be a good feature.
