Title: What's the difference between SecureMe vs SecureLine using an iPhone?
Post by: SpeedyPC on November 28, 2017, 11:01:12 AM
G'day Avast,

I've been a member of Avast and using there Anti-virus software for a very long time, I've had my new iPhone 8 since I've been using my old Nokia C2 phone for nearly 13 years and this is my very first experience using a computer phone an iPhone 8.

My question is what's the difference between SecureMe vs SecureLine, I'm aware the SecureMe is free and is the protection is pretty much the same as the SecureLine with extra protection behind it. Could you please give me a better understanding and details on the difference between SecureMe vs SecureLine using my iPhone 8 also I've forgot I have the Avast Wi-Fi Finder included on the new iPhone.

Thank you.

Hello SpeedyPC,

Most important thing is that both applications provide the same level of protection.
SecureMe is free - no purchases or data limits and as a bonus, it’s able to scan Wi-Fi for security issues. But it has some limitations - it doesn't work on mobile data and it doesn't offer auto-reconnection feature, therefore the VPN will disconnect every time you change wifi. If you want to remove these limitations, you need to use SecureLine. In SecureLine you can also select location, via which you want to connect to the internet. These features are paid, otherwise the technology is the same in both applications and on the server side.

Hope it helps!

Rysan quick question while I've got the Avast Wi-Fi Finder and the SecureLine on my new iPhone and how do I know that is working properly, and is there something that I can be able to test the SecureLine from my iPhone to make sure is working while I'm away oversea?

Ta  ;)

Edit:- Issue has been solved.

If you can see a "VPN" icon in the status bar on top of the screen of your device, it means that the VPN is ON and your communication is secured.

Thanks and have a nice holidays as well!
