Title: Avast and Opera mail
Post by: barton45 on May 15, 2006, 08:01:01 PM
I use Avast Home (free). I also use Opera browser and the integrated email client from the browser. As far as I can see Avast does not check emails from opera. Is there a way that Avast can be configured to check opera mail?
Thanks and regards

Opera email and avast do work together and a forums search for 'opera email avast' without the quotes returns some information.
These are some of them:

More importantly what OS are you using as that may be having an effect on settings, etc.

What do you see or not see to confirm this ?

Many thanks for your input. I have rechecked settings and used the wizard and all is ok! now. Just for your info I have reinstalled XP and along with it, avast, and forgot to include the 'clean' outgoing / incoming message ::)

No problem, welcome to the forums.

However, with XP I believe you shouldn't have needed to use the Wizard to set-up the email protection, it should be transparent, but I don't use Opera (or its email) so I couldn't say for certain.

I have a feeling that there is a need to check the future email accounts box if that makes sense to you.
Anyway thanks for your help and links.

There shouldn't be a need as that is a part of the wizard set-up routine that you shouldn't need with XP. You could set-up a dummy account, different account name but same details as one account that is being checked and test it.
