Title: Avast Version

  How do I find out the version I have on my computer?  I've had it installed since about Jan. 2016.  I keep the program & virus definitions updated.  I'm asking because I may need to uninstall & reinstall the Free Antivirus version.  I am having some SERIOUS problems with my P/C booting up  Please help.

Right click on the Avast icon in tray and select "About Avast".

  Thank you, I did.  It is currently version 17.8.2318.  What would it have been in January, 2016?  I understand if it was version 6x, I would need to uninstall & reinstall.  I guess I have a version 7x now?

Doesn't really matter, with 2318 you're up to date.
