Title: VPN not working with an Ethernet cable connection

Hi,
I need to connect to the Internet with an Ethernet cable. Until now I used to connect via Wi-fi, but my adaptor seems to have stopped working and now I can only do it by cable. The problem is that the VPN now doesn't work at all. It starts connecting, but it never finishes the connection process, it gets stuck in "Activating". I tried changing locations, but that hasn't helped.
Any idea on what I could do? :-[
