Hopefully we'll get a reply from Alwil as to the reason why avast! failed.  ???

There was some false positive, at least that's what the article says...
We don't know the details (yet) :)

I hope avast! will get better soon! One fail in battle does not mean they failed the war!  ;) Go ALWIL, go, the war with viruses is not over!  ;D

I do hope it gets better. I see no reason to use a substandard AV or any other application.
