Title: SOLVED: Delete $WINDOWS.~BT/.../aswHdsKe.sys
Post by: Gavin46 on January 25, 2018, 09:01:27 PM
FIXED: Uninstalled AVAST which seems to have had a file lock on that file.

I've been having trouble updating Windows 10 to the creators version (1709). After a struggle I got to 1607 and would like to upgrade to 1709 from there. As part of trying to clean the machine I would like to delete the $WINDOWS.~BT along with Window.old. However, in both cases the file aswHdsKe.sys is utterly undeletable. I have tried Unlocker , TakeOwnershipPro and Disk Cleanup as well as trying to modify the file permissions. All have failed. Windows Explorer marks it as a System file. Does anyone know how I can delete this file in order to properly clean the machine so that I can try to update to Windows 1709?
