Title: ARC archive corrupt
Post by: hlecter on June 05, 2006, 11:35:51 PM
When scanning first time with 4.7.844 I get a couple of messages:
'ARC archive is corrupt, Unable to scan' , in my result-list.
The 2 files are buried deep into Programfiles/MSworks......

Never got that message with other versions.

I know nothing about ARC archives, but I suppose these ones are not corrupt.

Sorry if asked and answered, but search in fora for arc gave pretty many hits.

Regards
HL

Edit: Googling gave a lot info about ARC archives, but didn't help me.
Avast revision history doesn't mention them as far as I can see, since 2003.
Strange that this message came up now, then.

It's probably a "false alarm" - in the sense that an unrelated file is detected as ARC archive by avast!, and it tries to unpack it (which fails, of course - therefore the "corrupted" message).
I've somehow improved the detection of ARC archive just a few days ago, so it's likely to be better in the next version.

Thanks again, Igor for a quick answer. :)

(I was editing my post while you were answering.)

Don't know if this is interesting, but a right click scan of the whole Works-folder shows up no messages about ARC or other warnings. Just for your info.
