Title: Avast SafeZone Browser End of support - March 1, 2018.
Post by: X-KRULL on February 16, 2018, 09:12:43 PM
The Avast antivirus website for Spain: xxx.infratech.es/avast. to published in this forum the following:

"We are writing to notify you that, as of March 1, 2018, Avast will no longer provide support for the Avast SafeZone browser, as a result of this, the SafeZone browser will be removed from the devices that have it installed.

As of March 1, 2018, the SafeZone browser will be automatically uninstalled from the devices. It is expected that this process will take up to 2-3 weeks to complete.

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

It is not necessary for you to take any action. If you have saved bookmarks in the browser, you can export that information to your desktop and import it into other compatible browsers."

Note: I only echo this and more I ask them:

Very good, team of Infratech Solutions and all the foreros of Avast.
Since last year it was known that this browser was going to leave :( for the non-collaboration with OPERA, but it has been commented that it would be replaced by another "AVAST SECURE BROWSER"; D (it could be its final name or not) and that at the moment is in Beta (although it has been many months like this already).
What do you know about it?
Is another browser going to be implemented?

Note: It would be a great setback for Avast users who would not give a substitute to "SafeZone Browser"

The SafeZone browser was actually only available if you were using an old version of Avast.
As stated, the SecureBrowser is currently still in beta and is still missing some features.
Hopefully it will be ready soon but, that's up to Avast.

..............

So... Old version will be working? (after march 1\2018)

Or - "will be removed from the devices that have it installed"?

Just  Avast SafeZone browser... it's one of the main reasons - why many people using Avast. Without browser it will be "just another faceless antivirus". :(

Hej
I've recently updated with a new licence, in hope the Avast Premier would keep all features they've supported in the old version.
One off the main reasons why I use Avast is the safezone and bankingzone

IT IS NO LONGER FEATURED IN THE NEW VERSION!!!

When will the new secure browser become availabe?
This moment the payed version of Avast Premier is no better than the free version from AVG.

Hello, Ths browser files has still been left on my system. The methods available on support sites do not remove the software from Program Files folder, not the Control Panel option or uninstalling the SafeZone browser on the Components panel of the Avast application. Is there an uninstaller which removes the SZBrowser folder and all the files from the C-drive? I seem to have nearly 1.5Gb or redundant software left. Thank you for any help.

Thank you for the link, but I tried to install the Secure Browser and my system is old so the version of Chrome use in that browser is not compatible with my system, it just rejects the installer. I was hoping that I could install the Secure Browser to replace SafeZone and then uninstall Secure Browser with the tool that's provided with it. Not needed now though a solution has been provided, see https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=211402.msg1459028#msg1459028 Thanks again.
