Title: Windows 10 update KB4090913 needs antivirus compatibility
Post by: REDACTED on March 12, 2018, 03:30:20 PM
The Windows 10 update KB4090913, which is supposed to fix the USB problem caused by KB4074588, has not worked on my system. Microsoft's details on KB4090913 say that for that update to work, the antivirus used has to be compatible with the update, which is indicated by the following registry setting:

(Key="HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"Subkey="SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\QualityCompat"

Value Name="cadca5fe-87d3-4b96-b7fb-a231484277cc"

Type="REG_DWORD”

Data="0x00000000”)

Apparently, my system, which uses Avast Internet Security, does not have the registry setting. Could you please tell me whether the Avast antivirus is compatible and if so, how to get the setting?

By the way, searching the Forum shows a topic on KB4090913, but it's in the non-English section and I can't read it.

Thanks for your assistance.

I had no problems and the update was installed on my systems on 3/6/2018
Here's the information on that update:
