hi

i am being prompted to sign into computer when trying to move infected file into the chest...is this normal i am new to using avast?

thanks for any answers to this, i am afraid that if i sign in i will be effected by this virus

This depends on the file, in MacOS the prompt to sign in is to elevate you to admin rights for that action. So this could be a file that belongs to another user on the Mac or a file in a system location
