Title: Outlook 2003 error

I have again the same error I had some time ago until an Avast update solved the problem: when deleting or moving an email into Outlook 2003, the program crashes. The only temporary solution is to stop Avast in the "Adds-in" panel of the advanced option of Outlook! An one having the same?  ???

Sorry I'm not an Outlook user, but have you tried a forums search on outlook 2003 as I believe this has been covered before. In some of these cases it was down to having the MS Desktop Search installed, once uninstalled no more problem. Do you have the MS Desktop Search installed ?

Ok, so I cannot have Outlook 2003 and MSN Search AND Avast!. Hey, I hope this is a joke. My live depends on Outlook.. and MSN Search makes me really productive (I have not found any other indexing engine that I like better), but I'm only using Avast! since yesterday. Maybe I should uninstall and go for another antivirus. I hope not... I just payed my license.

No joke, but if you aren't experiencing any issue then you are OK.

The issue is I believe with the MSN Search tool and not avast, as previously discussed in the forums.
I believe the google desktop search works fine, I don't use either so I can't comment on the interface/indexing of either.

Remember that we have MSN search AND, different, Windows Desktop Search (the search only without the toolbar).
I use Windows Desktop Search without problem with Outlook and avast.
The same for Google Desktop Search (that miss some features that I need).

I've had the same problem for quite some time. Finally I was able to get rid of it by uninstalling the MSN Search Bar (I've been using the "monolithic" one, which combined desktop search and search bars plus tabbed browsing) and installing separate (i) Windows Desktop Search and (ii) MSN Search Toolbar. Thanks for your suggestion; is it strange that no one answered my similar question in the MS forum?I did as suggested and for now the problem really disappeared!
