Title: Playing games. What to do about avast and spy sweeper?
Post by: stwils on June 25, 2006, 11:34:54 PM
I played Civ 3 Conquest yesterday on my desktop. (Avast is on my laptop.) The resources went down- down- down. It was SpySweeper. So I disabled SpySweeper when playing the  game and all went well. (I have Norton expired 2002 on the desktop.)

But since avast is not on my desktop, but on my laptop, when playing games on the laptop, will it also cause system resources to go downhill? (I also have Spysweeper on the laptop.)

avast! uses to use less resources than Norton Antivirus.
Besides, you can configure it to a 'less' intense monitor and still keeps security ('Normal' level instead of 'High' sensitivity on Standard Shield).

Oh, never try use togheter, in the same computer, Norton and avast...

Well, Norton 2002, why don't you change it to avast?
