Title: Server 2016 Essentials - No Internet access
Post by: Rolf N on May 17, 2018, 11:33:16 PM
Experts,

I recently installed the trial version of Avast Business Pro on a machine running Windows Server 2016 Essentials. Immediately after installation, the server lost network connection (both locally and Internet). I was administering the server through RDP, so I had to connect a screen, mouse and keyboard and work locally.

I couldn't find anything obvious, and I needed the server to be functional, so I uninstalled Avast and rebooted, and then the network connections worked fine again.
I would like to make another attempt, but I want to be prepared this time.

If I install Avast Business Pro again, are there any settings I should change to gain network access again? Is there an incompatibility with the Essentials role?
The server is a domain controller as well as DNS server. DHCP is taken care of by the router.

Thanks!

Hello!
There are two versions of Avast Business Pro, one for Windows Client and one for Windows Server. What version was installed in this test?
