I can't login in ADNM.
I have check the db with AMS maintenance tool and i can't connect.
I suppose there is a problem in service "avast! Management Server" because is not started , when i try to start i receive the error 42000 : 0xa410. Do you know why ?
Thanks in advance

Please post the contents of the file <ADNM>\data\log\error.log. Generally, if there's a problem with the service (not starting, crashing etc), this is the place to look first.

Error.log is attached, thanks

Seems like a problem with the DB.
Please start the AMS Maintenance Tools, and trye the "DB Conn" and "Check DB" buttons...

Try also "SQL Conn" -> "Test Connection".
BTW is this a MSDE or full SQL server install?

Is MSDE. The OS win 2003 SBS standard edition.

Is this a new install?
If so (i.e. it doesn't hold any data you don't want to lose), try reiniting the DB.
Use "Delete DB" and then "Create DB".

Strange indeed. And this is a fresh install of MSDE, installed together with ADNM, right?
Have a look in the
Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$AVAST\Log folder.
Does it contain any files? If so, please post the contents...
Thanks

a lot of files !
You can use Alwil FTP server as a second way to transfer only big files. Upload them to ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming (please, note that you won't have READ access to the ftp server, just write - so you won't even be able to see what you've just uploaded).
Hope this help :)

i have upload log.zip.
Thanks for help

Thanks for the logs.
Clearly, the SQL Server is having hard time working with the database file. I have to say I have never seen anything like this so far... :-\
But I have found a MS KB article that discusses a similar issue:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=870913
Could you please try deleting the following files:
C:\Programmi\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$AVAST\Data\avast*.mdf
C:\Programmi\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$AVAST\Data\avast*.ldf
and retry the "Create DB" function in the AMS Maintenance Tool?
Thanks

Thanks a lot ! Now is perfect! ;D

Glad to hear that...
But I'm still wondering how did the problem occur. Was there a previous install of ADNM on this machine? I.e. did you install it more than once?
It seems that there must've been some remaints from some previous (maybe failed?) ADNM install...
Thanks :)

I have installed ADNM one time 2 days ago, test with one client , all ok.
After i have change the administrator password and close the program... and ... (very very strange)... when i doubleclick on program icon to re-open the application nothing appear, double click again, nothing, neither an error message... i try also in program directory directly on .exe file... nothing !!!
I decide to reboot the system to retry ... same problem nothing appear .. the application don't start.
So .... i decide to repair (with uninstaller) the application.. nothing.. same problem ...
So ... uninstall and reinstall .... but at the question "you want to keep database" i choose OK.
The application now starting but i can't log in. I try the standard pwd (admin) and also my changed password... nothing...
I decide to ask in the forum and u know the end ;D
Thanks a lot

Hi!
Please help me!
I don't know wether I ask my question in the right forum here or not
My problem: after system booting the mssql server starts, and then after avast starts the sql server shots down and I can't start it.
-
Gia, can you please check if the "avast! Management Server" service is running? (Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services). If not, can you start it?
Szabi, what version of avast are you using? If it's avast Home or Profesional, you should start a new topic in the avast Home/Pro section of the forum.
Thanks
