Title: I have a complaint... sorry
Post by: Benjamin198 on July 14, 2018, 05:02:33 PM
AvastSvc is running with a 15-25% CPU usage.

This is the service... Right!?!

When idle it shouldn't do anything. This service never goes idle.

Stop that! The  UI goes idle, but there is no reason why the service, even with all 'shields off' should take 15-25% of the CPU.

My server has waaaay better things to do with that horsepower then running you annoying application.

As a developer, I have to turn off so many shields while write and deploying code, it such a pain in the ass to wait for a shield to check my latest build of the same program I tried to unblock two seconds earlier, all because of a different version number.

Freaking Brutal guys!

Stop the SVC from taking CPU usages, and for christs sake stop annoying developers with the Behaviour shields. We need a more prominent whitelist for that shield... please!

Okay, rereading my prior post, it seemed a little hot-headed, ops! I appreciate the link. Cool.

But, why is the service ramping up my CPU usages?
I finally was able to stop the persistence service and shut down the Svc.

Can you guys take another look at why the CPU usages are so high in these latest releases? Avast never ate these kinds of resources in the past.

Even with all the behaviours limited, it was still eating (what I would consider) too much CPU time.

I could transcode stream a 1080p movie to two or three network devices and maybe I'd hit 25-30% CPU load.

What is Avast doing???
