I'm using Avast Internet Security (paid), and from time to time I get a popup about Perfomance issues i.e. System Junk, Programs and Registry entries.
The Programs reported as impacting performance are things like my Macrium backup and other stuff which runs to backup and protect the system. I'm not about to start messing about with the Registry.
However, the largest chunk of space is taken up by "System Junk". What is not helpful is that the entries (see screenshot) are not identified in detail. I really need to see what and where is included in the headings before I commit to getting rid of any of it.
Is there a way of doing this, or plans to expand on what is contained in each line of the report?

Thanks for the links. However, I can't see where it tells me I can see the in-depth detail of each of the lines shown in the screenshot I posted. As far as I can see, I'm told about "issues", and the Programs section does tell me exactly which ones it has found. However, referring back to my screenshot, I want to know exactly i.e have listed, the files that go to make up the 100 "junk" App Backup files, or the 94 App Setup files.
I'm not sure of the wisdom of allowing Win Dump files (for example) to be removed willy-nilly without knowing their age at very least. As a test, I've searched from Root downwards for all .dmp files, and there are in fact only 6, all of which relate to applications like Firefox and Vivaldi browser crashes. Further, these files are the dumps that are enqueued for sending to Mozilla or Vivaldi for investigation and debugging purposes, so I don't want to get rid of them.

I dont use avast or cleanup so not 100% sure but think you need to buy it before you can use it, have you? ... see info in the link i gave, also click at the bottom >> Load more articles
so what you see may be a ad ... if there is a click to solve it probaly just take you to a "buy this to fix"

On reflection, I think you're probably right, so I'll give it a whirl next time it appears. Now that I have a screenshot, I can see if it reports this stuff differently, for a start. To be honest, I think that, if this is as you suggest, it's not a very sensible way of promoting the sale of this add-on. Cavalier deletion of system files on any system, big or small, without knowing exactly what they are, is to be strongly deprecated.

If you have the paid version, you can see details for each item before you decide to delete same.
The problem I've always seen is that most people never look and most users don't have a clue as to what's being deleted.
It's only when there's a problem that the complaints start to appear. At that point, it's usually too late.
As DavidR stated, Back Up before use. :)

Personally I would backup my system before "giving it a whirl" as you say.
I "gave it a whirl" as far as pushing the Cleanup button, whereupon it offered itself to me to buy or to take a free trial. I won't be doing either, even if I do have a daily system image backup.
Thanks for the help, everybody. I just wish I could suppress the advertising, especially since I've just renewed my sub for another year's worth.
