Title: Avast resource usage
Post by: REDACTED on July 19, 2018, 04:54:28 PM
I have uninstalled Avast free because of RAM and processor usage. I really like Avast, but AVG has half the RAM usage.
Another problem is that it detects Iobit and Malwarebytes products as PUP's and I can't seem to get rid of that. I use Iobit and Malwarebytes as backup to antivirus.
The real problem is that Chrome and Windows Edge are using way too many resources and lock up my computer.
Avast is a great product!

My computers aren't the latest and don't have huge amounts of RAM. All are WIN10 but just don't have the RAM. One is a tablet (MS WIN10 too), but with tiny processor and very small RAM.
Max RAM is 8 GB. Most are 4 GB or less.

Here is a story to read about IOBIT  >>  https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/29681-iobit-steals-malwarebytes-intellectual-property/

You can turn off PUP detection, or report it to avast lab as False Positive
