Hi,
a few days ago, Avast notified me that there was an update available, I installed it the day after I got the notification, which was August 22nd. Right after installing the update, I restarted my computer as Avast told me to do, and ever since then, after every PC boot unsecapp.exe ("sink to receive asynchronous callbacks for wmi client application") is running constantly. While it is a legit Microsoft program, I have never had it run on my Windows 10 computer ever, only on my Windows 8 laptop. Why is that thing suddenly constantly running after the Avast update? Aside from the update, I didn't change anything else on my system, no new installs or anything.

same for win 7 computer

So the same program is now running on your PC after the last Avast update? And it was never running before that update?

No replies? Can nobody tell me why the latest update suddenly caused this program to run constantly?

Permanently running unsecapp.exe? Nothing new. About three or four years ago Avast also called the unsecapp process. Later versions of Avast didn't used this process anymore. I think history will repeat itself.

Sorry for replying so late, stuff happened and I totally forgot about this thread for a while.
I understand that it's (usually) a legit Microsoft program, I was just wondering why it suddenly started running daily. The only thing that changed before this started was an Avast-Update, so I want to know if the sudden appearence of it is related to Avast?
