Title: update failure (package broken)

HI, running windows ME, when trying to update, the files are downloaded but when goes to installation I get message back that package is broken. Any ideas?

Try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, select 'avast! Anti-Virus,' click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. You need to be on-line to do this.
