Title: Avast Mobile Security turning off
Post by: Jeff304 on September 23, 2018, 05:41:33 PM
I have Avast Security Ultimate. Every now and then a scan reports that the mobile is turned off. I supplies a link to Accessibility so you can turn it back on. I don't know how long's it been turned off. Why should this be?

Hello, some operating system flavors revoke the Accessibility permission on their own. Can I ask which device and OS version you're using?

The thing is that once the app running in background is killed, Android automatically removes the Accessibility permission (this is applies for any app, not only ours) and user must grant the Accessibility permission again. The only way to prevent this from happening is to "protect" the app from being killed. Please check your device Settings for power saving features and either "white-list" the Avast app or (if such option is not possible) disable the power saving feature completely.

Hi All

Bought a new Android Device with Go edition(Android 8.1.0 with 5 August 2018 Security patch).
Installed Avast Mobile Security and activated it.
It runs in the background for some time and then gets killed at some random time.

Visited Avast forum and read the above thread and disabled "Battery Optimization" and granted "Accessibility Permission".
Still the behavior is same.
The device has 1 GB of Ram and 8GB of ROM.

Any help appreciated.

Regards
Neo

Hi, can you confirm the permanent notification is enabled?
(Avast Mobile Security > Menu > Settings > Notifications & Alerts > Realtime protection >  Permanent notification > any of the first three options)

Thanks for the response.

Yes I can confirm that the "Permanent Notification" is enables with option "Standard Design".

When I manually open the Avast app, the icon appears on the Top bar, and also on the lock screen.
But randomly both of them disappears.

Also the icons don't appear on the Top bar, after a phone restart.

Then we will need more details about the device (manufacturer and type), so that we can check how "aggressive" task killer are we facing.

Hi again, please try the following:

- go to device's settings
- select "Battery"
- tap the three-dots in the upper right corner and select "Battery optimisation"
- now change the list to "All apps"
- select "Avast Mobile Security"
- change it to "Don't optimise"

We hope it helps, but 1GB of RAM is not much these days, as apps in general are more and more demanding.
