Title: Clean Reinstall and Avast has issues
Post by: REDACTED on September 27, 2018, 09:51:47 PM
I did a clean re-install of avast home many months ago; maybe even a year.
And I have not found where to talk about the issues until now.

When Avast starts my windows 7 home is LOCKED and avast has a red symbol saying unprotected or
something of that nature. After 3 to 5 minute avast starts and then my internet gets enabled.

It feels like my system is trying to load the old avast first, then load the new avast, but this is
only a guess.

Today I was looking at my Event Viewer and seen this:
========================
Windows detected your registry file is still in use by other applications or services. The file will be unloaded now. The applications or services that hold your registry file may not function properly afterwards.

========================

Which kinda confirms my thinking; although I am not a expert in these matters.

Is there a way to get help?
Where can I go to find a solution?

Thank you for your time and efforts.

Try the following:Repair Avast:
Control Panel> Program and Features (Add/remove program)>Select Avast> Select Repair. Reboot when completed
https://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB204 (https://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB204)

If Repair doesn't fix the problem, try the following:
Clean Install of Avast:
