I had problems with Avast Security after a High Sierra update so I tried to delete and reinstall. I did not Uninstall properly and now there are traces of a prior installation that needs to be deleted. I ran Terminal and got these messages:

Richards-Mac-mini:~ richard$ ls -la /Library/Application\ Support/Avast/

Richards-Mac-mini:~ richard$ ls -la /Applications/Avast.app/
ls: /Applications/Avast.app/: No such file or directory
Richards-Mac-mini:~ richard$ kextstat | grep avast

Can you please help me delete the necessary items so I can reinstall again?

Hello Richard,
you are on the right track. I can see you no longer have the UI nor drivers loaded, so it should be enough to just open Terminal.app and run following command:
rm -rf '/Library/Application Support/Avast'
You should be able to install Avast again after that.
Best regards,
Jakub
