Thanks, testing it asap...
-
- After the update, the PUP detection was disabled.
- Manually VPS update never stops (vpsupdate). Funny side note, if you go to another setting and return you can start multiple VPS updates (vpsmulti). ;D
- Else, the beta is running smooth, so far...
-
Thanks for the new beta :)
-
Got it, auto update
All smooth so far. ;)

Hi, after retesting it over a couple of days, it seems this only happens when a new VPS is available but not auto-installed yet.

@ Developers
Odd occurrence here doing the update manually from GUI.
Clicked on Program "Check for Updates" and progress bar flashed and then displayed in small red righting:> undefined < but no update started.
I had to re-click "Check for Updates" a second time for an update to actually occur.
The odd thing is it happened exactly the same way on both Win 10 machines,
-
Updated to 2354 via GUI - still missing any progress bar..!!
-
Was this released to the stable channel already? I don't participate in Beta testing at the moment, but I checked for updates just earlier and it said that 18.7.2354 was available.

Yep, awaiting the official changelog...

If this has been reported or isn't supposed to work yet sorry but I find that with this beta update 2354 the Repair Tab in Settings/troubleshooting section does nothing for me (doesn't respond) , Nor does the "Back Up Settings"
Is this working for everyone, or is not supposed to yet. Thanks :)
-
Nope, it's broken for me as well. Cheers

Thank Asyn. :)
Wasn't sure if it was a known issue or just my systems.

Since this beta has now been released (with the same version number, my pet hate) is this bug still in the New program as an undocumented bug/known issue.

From my understanding, the Release version does not have the same "Setting" option/Menu so I don't think what I'm seeing is in the Release version.
I don't know for sure as I don't run the Release, only betas :)
-
There is no Repair in the Released version, unfortunately.

Since it has been released, Avast are hardly likely to make changes to the beta versions.
However, as Bob said the Repair is no longer there in the UI and neither is it in the Control Panel > Add Remove Programs/Programs and Features either.
Very disappointing as this valuable Repair option has saved many Avast users having to do a clean reinstall.

Hi David
THe 'Repair option' is in the beta UI but it's just not functional yet.
I 'originally' pointed that out because I stumbled across it and didn't realize it wasn't functional ???

I guess they resolved the fact that it wasn't functional by removing it :(
Unlike you I have gone in the opposite direction, I no longer run the beta builds. I got fed up of the inconsistencies, were something was functioning OK only to be screwed up in a beta release.
Currently I'm only running the latest version on my XP Pro system (much better backup and recovery strategy in place) and not on my win10 system. It has got to that point were I now wait to see what transpires in the forums before I manually update. I may however have to do that before I allow the next win10 program update.

With the next beta release, will it be 18.8 or is there another update for 18.7?
Thanks :)

I would have thought for it to advance to 18.8.xxxx beta version, version 18.7.xxxx would have to be released as a regular program update.
-
We will certainly find out once it's released. :) (Unless Avast provides an answer. ) :)

That confused me.

But things are more clear now, since the Beta version 18.7.2354 has been released, there is no beta session running. So following the usual pattern the next beta session (if one of the monthly ones) would be 18.8.xxxx.
However, given there is going to be a fork in the road with the Vista/XP oses not being supported from November 2018, 18.x needs a polish to ensure all issues (there are a few in the forums) are resolved before pressing on with avast 19.x.

No not that I'm aware of, and yes the FW settings 'coming soon' has been since the new UI was introduced.
So I was just interested due to the post by NON that the ui had been updated. I didn't notice any change in mine. ;)

E.g. exclusions were missing, etc. (UI updates since release 292 -> 293 -> 296)

By 'exclusions' are you meaning 'exceptions' (as shown in my UI)
In any case I've had the option to add exception for some time....never used it though.
ON a side note the "Back up Settings" and "Repair" are still inactive/not functioning.
Edit: Is it possible folks UI's are updating at different times. Some sooner then others?
-
I only test the German version/UI, other languages may differ...

Confirmed.

Hi guys, sorry for late reply, I mean Exceptions (General -> Exceptions) and Scans (Protection -> Scans).
Also, Core Shields (under Protection) is modified some (it seems UI guys hear one of my concerns, thanks!).
I too have UI version 1.0.296.
-
Very curious about the "next" beta update.
-
Note, UI has been updated to V1.0.305 (German).

Any info about the next beta??over a month till now..

From my understanding, this next beta update/change is quite significant so it could be a little while. I believe it will be beta version 19.
Am also eager. ;)
