Title: Using PayPal to purchase a mobile (pro) subscription?
Post by: REDACTED on October 29, 2018, 11:46:59 PM
Hello,

I was wondering if it is possible to use PayPal to purchase a subscription for (android) Avast Mobile Security (Pro) through Windows PC?
(I have tried your store, but store only says that mobile android security is free, and just forwards me to google play store install page).

I already have application installed, account registered and my device (phone) connected to Avast web site account. What I would like is to apply a (pro) subscription.

Unfortunately, I'm from EU country in which Google Play store, for some reason, does not allow adding PayPal account to Google Pay options (talk about discrimination), so I am unable to make a payment through Play Store.

My second option would be using PayPal through window PC, and purchasing subscription on web, getting a code, and applying a code to my android application in settings page.
Unfortunately, your store does not sell subscriptions for mobile security (which is very weird, one would think it is in your interest to make the sales).

So please tell me, is there a way to purchase a license code for Android Mobile Security, using PayPal, over web (not through Play Store)?

Thank you

PS: And if this is not possible due to some contract between Avast and Google, I would like someone to explain to me why "enter voucher code" option even exists in application.

EDIT: I ended up using my debit card (which is not what I wanted due to privacy reasons) because apparently there was no other way. This is quite a discrimination between different countries by Google (and we are talking about different neighboring countries inside EU zone even), and a lack of an appropriate service by Avast, offering only one single payment option (Google Play Store). Not a nice experience to have, considering we are almost in year 2019. and there is like million payment options available online.

Hi, at the moment we only provide purchase via Google Play. In some countries Google Play offers a few more payment options (like via the mobile operator), the full list is here:

Regarding purchasing Avast Mobile Security Pro licence via Paypal and our web/e-store - unfortunately we do not provide these yet, but these are definitely options we are considering for future.

Interesting - a year later, I have recently bought my first smart phone (and the endless woe that comes with it) and installed the Avast Security app which has continuously pestered me to upgrade. Tereza V., I was happy to do so as it had offered me the option of using PayPal. However, problems with PayPal delayed my being able to upgrade until now. Guess what - I can now only use Google P(l)ay again.  No thanks, Avast, I would rather not have Google's tendrils inserted into every part of my life. Not sure what access to body measurements has to do with mobile anti-virus but apparently Google wants this....

C'mon Avast, you can be more reasonable this, although I appreciate that at some point, large market share dictates that you no longer have to care about customer service.

Hi, unfortunately, Avast Mobile Security Premium (former Pro) is not offered in our web store, indeed. You can get it within Avast Premium Security Multi-device, if you also want to protect your PC - see https://www.avast.com/premium-security

You can also buy the Avast Mobile Security Premium (Pro) at some of our partners (e.g. in a store or e-shop), depends on what country you are from. If you tell us, we'll be happy to recommend such partner to you.

Hi, that sounds more like problem with setting of your payments - please check your banking settings, you need to have enabled the Internet payments.
