Title: Too many false positives

In the last 2 weeks, Avast (free) has gone crazy with warning me about URL malware.
e.g. on this site it warns and block a GIF file:

Since this is a button, it breaks the functionality of the page.

How the hell could a GIF file even be malware (yeah, if you use a specific driver and a specific OS and .... but in reality, never happened)?
And also blocks some CSS files. I got and read them, nothing but styles, no scripts, nothing conceivably dangerous.

I click the "false positive" button, but the next time I visit the site, the same files are warned and blocked,.

What is wrong with this program?
Why does it ignore me when I mark it as a false positive?
Why can't you white list?
Why do they flag files that obviously are not malware? Can any person report random files to mess with a site they don't like?
