Title: Cannot password-protect my Avast Free program
Post by: coma200s on November 30, 2018, 11:50:49 AM
Hello,

whenever I try to add a password to protect my Avast application, either to block full access or some individual component (like update etc), the program seems to ignore my settings and revert back to no password as soon as I click OK in the settings after I set up the password.

Example:
I go to settings
I click drop down password settings
I check "Protect Avast with a password"
I enter and re-enter password
I click all of the "Protected Areas" check boxes
I click the OK button
I close all avast windows
I reopen avast ui from the system tray
Avast reopens without password prompt
I check my settings again and the Password protection is disabled

Thanks in advance,
Spyros M

--EDIT--
Reboot fixed the issue.. Seems like avast didn't like more than one attempt to add a password and then change it to another? Thanks anyway
