Title: Can't access phone after hard factory reset
Post by: Johndkwest on December 06, 2018, 11:48:54 AM
I upgraded my phone and wanted to give my Huawei P9 model EVA-L09 to a friend. I carried out a hard factory reset as I didn't want my data or programs accessible to any one else. Now on booting the PIN to unlock the device pops up but it doesn't accept my PIN. Then I investigated and saw that by logging on to my Avast account I could reset the PIN. But when I select my phone on the devices page it says WE ARE SORRY, BUT DETAILED INFORMATION FOR DEVICE EVA-L09 IS CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE.

Now I am stuck with an unusable phone!

PS. I tried dialing the helpline number 0800 007 394 and this connects me to AVG virus help not Avast!

As you've factory reset the phone you'll need the original pin set from the factory, try 1234 or 0000, if that doesn't work maybe ask a local phone retailer/shop.

Avast own AVG so it's one in the same :)
