Thanks Karel, testing it asap...
-
Thanks, updating now. :)

WFI is opening really slooooow (5-8 seconds).
Else, the new beta is running smooth, so far...
-
OS was very reluctant to 'Reboot' on HP Envy, my other HP was immediate.
Other then that all seems fine......
Will there be 'further/future development' to the "Geek Area" in next betas???

A valid question, nothing was added there since it was introduced. :(

Agreed, and having more control and access to settings (especially the "Firewall") is of major interest to me. ???
-
yes we are working on geek area right now and it will appear in UI in January
-
Thanks for the new beta :)

I have a process in taskmanager it is normal?
"Avast Dump Process"
It is a partial of the beta version?
-
Yes, it is normal. I believe it will be a regular part of Avast in the final version as well.

What is it's function ???

Thanks, I calmed down.

I was thinking about it. First: this is only part of the BETA version (stronger error detection) or Second: Because it is an independent process and It can also work in case of a complete crash.
But not problem because very low resource requirement. 1MB CPU load= 0

As the name suggests, its purpose it to create a crashdump when one of our processes crashes.
Now this is nothing new, that functionality has been there for years - but we (gradually) learned that it didn't work for all possible crash types and that a new (standalone) process is the only option to get a (so far) complete coverage.

@igor,
Thanks for the information.

Bankmode bug, not sure if this is related to the AV or ASB or both, see screenshot.
-
+1
Here also. :)

The same thing with the ASB happened to me. I uninstalled the Beta version, reinstalled the stable version, and the problem was solved.
By the way, I have a great expectation with the new 19.1 release. I will be very glad if the GUI is refined and improved, to give Avast a much better "look" than the current version. This GUI has been kind of hard to endure!
Happy New Year (with a new Avast release) to all!

I personally hardly ever open the UI. Most things can be accessed via a right click on the Avast icon in the system tray.
Most of the UI use is due to answering someones question. :)

The updating process is actually completely broken for me. I had to manually install 19.1.2359 via the installer as 19.1.2358 wasn't found via the updater at all. I'm now constantly notified via the windows notification center and avast GUI that my virus definitions are old, but it's not finding anything on the update section of the program.
When I ran the updater via the delete/update/repair section of avast in windows apps, it gave me this crash log:

Here also: program updating didnn't work. Had to do a clean install.
-
I personally have not experienced any issue with program updates via the beta channel as yet.
Program updated to recent Build without issue.
-
New Beta for AVG 19.1.3075 pre-release.
What was fixed
Final tuning before release to public
Presumably the Avast Beta will follow shortly ?
I would have thought it would have been released first.
EDIT: It has been released now ;)
