Title: [SOLVED] Can't save program passphrase
Post by: amarildojunior on December 25, 2018, 07:36:24 PM
Hey folks,

I Just installed Avast on a fresh Windows 7 Pro install and for some reason I can't save a passphrase to use with the program.
I open the settings page, type the passphrase and set everything I want to protect, but after pressing "OK" and opening the settings again I'm not prompted to type my passphrase and it's like I've never set it up.

Has anyone seen this?

Programs and Features say that my avast is version 18.8.2356.

Cheers.

EDIT: Seems one or more reboots are required. Weird. Gonna test this now. https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=223244.msg1484177#msg1484177

Yup, a reboot solved it.

Hope they fix this with new updates, never seen a program require a full system reboot to work with passwords.

The image verification on this forum is horrible :P I have to request like 5 new images just so I'm fed one that I can read. I've also never seen this on any other forum.

Cheers and a happy new year!
