Title: Cannot Load Configuration
Post by: elbowroom on July 25, 2006, 09:00:34 AM
Hi! I would just like some help in starting my Avast. I just installed it on my Windows 98 Second Edition and whenever I try to start it, 2 messages appear saying " One of the Library Files needed to run this application can't be found. "Avast Splash Screen Cannot Load Configuration"; and also " Avast Simple User Interface Cannot Load Configuration. I have used Avast before on my Win XP and I really liked it. Thanks a lot!

Is the message really exactly One of the Library Files needed to run this application can't be found. ?? Could you please post the exact wording?

Thanks
Vlk

Vlk, actually i ran into similar (if not the same one) myself too.
Few days ago i repeatedly scanned several samples and all the sudden i got message like this for context extension scan. Ok wtf, then i want to access tray menu and avast! icon just dissapears. I want to launch avast! with main exe, same error. Tried log in, log off, nothing same error over and over again. Tried manually restarting services, nothing it just wouldn't do it.
Started ashDisp.exe, it was running but no tray icons.
Then after i rebooted my PC everything returnd back to normal. ???
WinXP SP2 system here... Don't really know what caused this huh.
