Title: Update Moved (Buries) Shields Controls
Post by: -Wildcard- on January 17, 2019, 04:28:16 AM
Let me start off by saying I am A LONG Time user of Avast, It works extremely well, its minimalistic, non-intrusive and catches threats that other AV's have missed (for the most part).

Having Said that this recent update that has only seemingly changed UI is horrible!

You guys have taken what was verging on overly complicated to now Fucking Stupid!
I am not going to apologize for this. I love(d) Avast but you have taken it a step to far putting shields controls in what took me an actual google search to figure out how to get to!
I should not have to rely on a Wiki Page to Tell me how my own AV Program Works!!!

To Top this all off With this annoying

"Attention: Your PC is not operating at maximum Performance!"
System Junk: xxGb
Programs Slowing down PC
Broken Registry Items

Notification that NEVER GOES AWAY as if trying to force me to buy, This is Intrusive! And Utterly Annoying for the sheer fact that the information is a Straight Up LIE!  As I have ran CCleaner Multiple Times COMPLETLY and Utterly Cleaning my registry and this number still exists at some numerical value!

Menu>Settings>Troubleshooting>Add/Modify Components

Remove the annoying VPN feature whilst in Add/Modify and any other features you don't want/need.  Reboot.

See attached picture below.

Old gui settings are still available (for now) via scrolling down to last entry whilst in Troubleshooting and clicking 'Open old settings'.

Default install for Avast is to select all features on install.  Use Custom Install instead, best option for all users.
