Title: avast removed cygwin perl.exe and failed to restore
Post by: avast626 on January 22, 2019, 01:49:07 PM
On Sunday  I tried to run cygwin 64 perl.exe on my windows 7x64.
Avast evaluated it as suspicious and put into quarantine.
I got a pop up saying it could not be repaired and I would have to reboot my computer.
I tried to restore the perl.exe from the chest but it failed to restore.
This behavior is total CRAP!
I had to disable Avast and re-install perl to get it working.
Why can't Avast just ask me before anything gets done?
Why couldn't I recover the perl.exe?
Why can't I selectively disable shields directly from tray?

You can adjust it in the settings.

Yep, look in your settings, default behavior is as described.  You can change it to what you want if you go there.
