Title: "This website may have harmed your computer" message--is it a false positive?
Post by: WormGuy on February 27, 2019, 07:16:31 AM
I tried going to my local library's website to put a book on hold, and after searching their catalogue for the book, a red error message from Avast popped up reading "This website may have harmed your computer" but no additional data from Avast. I have used this website many times before with no issue and performed a system scan of my computer using Avast that revealed no issues. Am I good?

The URL of the website is: hxxps://www.slcpl.org/

Is this a mistake on the part of Avast? Or do I have to worry more about my computer? (and also my library??)

Thank you!

sitecheck.sucuri does show outdated software, you might want to let your librarian administrator know.
